Medical Gap Cover

Medical Gap cover is a supplementary policy one takes out in addition to your medical aid. Which in our view is not a luxury, but in South Africa it is a necessity.
We have seen a surge in the cost of private care charged in South Africa, and conventional medical aid schemes cover within medical aid limits, usually ranging from 100% to 200% of medical aid tariffs.
GAP Cover is a supplementary policy taken out to cover the shortfalls of in hospital procedures. GAP Cover covers up to 500% of medical aid tariffs for in hospital procedures.
Medical aid shortfalls usually occur when a patient goes into hospital for a procedure (either planned or unplanned) with the shortfalls arising from but not limited to the hospitals, specialists and anesthetists.
